Querying takes so much more energy that creating a new story. One of my goals for this year was to query more. Sadly, I have only queried 2 things so far. I will do better...Sharon K. The important thing is that you write that story in the time you need and then move onto the next one. Writers aren't the same, nor should we be!Annalise Greenhttp://annalisegreen.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8879650711138321553.post-89259409560332603522012-07-11T23:09:13.602-06:002012-07-11T23:09:13.602-06:00It sounds like you got great feedback (both useful...It sounds like you got great feedback (both useful and positive) at the Taos Toolbox. Good times. I too would like to work faster and be more productive, but find it difficult sometimes. I have found rewriting (as in, scrapping a draft and doing it over from scratch) to be very helpful when trying to resuscitate older ideas. This allows the most recent skills and tricks I've developed to come into play. Much more helpful than endless tinkering, although some pieces make that necessary too. I guess it depends on how close a story is to where you want it to be?

(The rewriting vs. revising idea is not mine, but is something I yoinked from Dean Wesley Smith and others.)Elizabeth Twisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03133959633383307056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8879650711138321553.post-74910494438401666202012-07-11T12:04:30.959-06:002012-07-11T12:04:30.959-06:00I really enjoyed this post and the various ways to...I really enjoyed this post and the various ways to look at 'the process.' I'm a Get ye behind me! sort of writer when it comes to past projects.
I loved what you wrote about vision. Yes, I think it's vision and concept that one must adhere to -- the thing that sets the story apart from all others.
Thanks! :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07735576044552810103noreply@blogger.com
